YOUNG CHOREOGRAPHERS COMPETITION 

The competition is aimed at lovers of dance, music and emotions caused by sound, light and stage movement. The participants have the opportunity to present their full talent in the final shows, showing the viewers a range of choreographic inventions in new stylizations of dance forms, created by young, talented artists from various backgrounds.

5th EDITION - YOUNG CHOREOGRAPHERS COMPETITION 

The 5th National Competition of Young Choreographers organized by the "Śląsk" Song and Dance Ensemble Stanisława Hadyny, CIOFF Poland - Polish Section of CIOFF and the National Institute of Music and Dance. Competition presentations can be submitted until November 19.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

 

Choreographers, managers of artistic groups, teachers and dancers.

We cordially invite you to participate in the 5th National Competition for Young Choreographers - 2022.

 

The co-organizers of the competition are: Song and Dance Ensemble "Śląsk" them. Stanisław Hadyna   in Koszęcin, the Polish Section Association of the International Council of Folklore Associations, Festivals and Folk Art CIOFF®  in Warsaw and the National Institute of Music and Dance in Warsaw.

 

The competition is an artistic event promoting folk culture as a material and inspiration for the creation of new stage works. The subject of the competition presentations are choreographies of various forms of movement and dance techniques inspired by Polish folklore.

Young artists who use the Polish intangible heritage present the harmony between poetic imagination and choreotechnical work. _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d The ideas of form, time and color are the novelty of these compositions.

20 October 2022   - Announcement of the competition conditions
October 21 - November 19, 2022 - Deadline for submitting competition choreographies
November 20, 2022 - November 28, 2022 - Assessment of the submitted competition presentations by the jurors
November 28, 2022 - Announcement on the website of the selected presentations for the final competition
December 9-11, 2022 - Final inspection in Koszęcin
9-11 December 2022 - Announcement of the results, award ceremony and concert of the winners

W eronika 'Werka' Lempe is a dancer, instructor, choreographer, and participant in numerous folklore competitions and festivals in Poland and abroad. A longtime dancer with the folklore ensembles DZF Cepelia Poznań and ZF Wielkopolanie, she currently serves as an instructor at the Wielkopolska Polish Dance Club. She graduated from the Poznań University of Physical Education with a degree in Dance in Physical Culture, obtaining the title of Choreotherapist. She is a recipient of scholarships from the Rector for the best students and from the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship in the field of culture. She is a volunteer and coordinator of the Dancing Fairplayce Poznań dance workshops. Since 2018, she has been performing on stage with the Nieznany Dance Theatre. In 2023, she completed the Folk Dance Instructor course organized by the Mazovian Institute of Culture in Warsaw. Weronika seeks constant development in her own practice, and in her free time she sings in the Pogłosy Choir.

Michał Podgórski is a folk dance instructor. He graduated from the Masovian Academy of Dance at the Masovian Institute of Culture in Warsaw, majoring in folk dance. A long-time dancer and soloist with the Wronki Polish Dance Ensemble, where he teaches classes and prepares couples for national dance tournaments, which are successful across Poland, including Polish Champions. He has many artistic achievements under his belt, winning numerous awards—both as a dancer, at dance tournaments, and as a choreographer—in the Young Choreographers Competition organized by, among others, the S. Hadyna "Śląsk" Song and Dance Ensemble. He also won an individual award for best dancer at the 10th Michał Kosiński National Dance Festival in Sokołów Podlaski. He has participated in numerous artistic and educational projects, popularizing Polish folk culture nationally and internationally. She regularly improves her skills during training sessions organized by the Polish Section of the International Council of Associations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art CIOFF®, gaining knowledge from the most outstanding dance teachers and choreographers in Poland.
